Equine Massage in Central Iowa

Supporting your horse's comfort, mobility, relaxation, recovery, and overall well-being through individualized equine massage.

Equine massage is a hands-on wellness modality that uses intentional pressure and movement to work with the horse's muscles, fascia, and soft tissues. Sessions are tailored to each horse based on their age, workload, lifestyle, movement, and individual needs. Whether your horse is a competitive athlete, a trail horse, a lesson horse, a senior, or simply enjoys some extra attention massage can be incorporated into a regular wellness and maintenance program.

Benefits of Equine Massage

Why Does a Horse Need Massage?

  • Athletes: training and competing place repeated demand on musculoskeletal system
  • Young Horses: changes in workload can create new areas of tension or compensation
  • Seniors: easing age-related stiffness, muscle soreness, and assisting in relaxation
  • Seem "off": changes in posture, movement, behavior, or willingness to perform can tell us something has changed

What does a session look like?

  1. Conversation & Assessment
  2. Discuss workload, history, concerns, goals, and anything you've noticed recently. Any vet or chiropractic, notes also appreciated.
  3. Observation
  4. Observe the horse standing on even ground then moving in hand.
  5. Hands-On Session
  6. Session can be anywhere from 20-90 minutes
  7. Follow-Up Recommendations
  8. Discuss observations, areas of focus, and possible next steps

Not every session will look the same. We allow the horse to dictate the session: level of pressure, how long, how they feel.
